Courtesy of Chipster PRFormer Genesis guitarist Steve Hackett has lined up a 2019 fall tour of North America during which he’ll promote his new studio album, At the Edge of Light, while also celebrating a couple of career highlights.

The 27-date trek is plotted out from a September 12 concert in North Tonawanda, New York, through an October 20 show in Oakland, California. At the concerts, he’ll perform — for the first time ever — Genesis’ entire 1973 album Selling England by the Pound.

He’ll also play some favorite tunes from his 1979 solo album, Spectral Mornings, in honor of its 40th anniversary, plus selections from the new record.

“I’m thrilled to be performing the whole of my favorite Genesis album, Selling England by the Pound, which caught the attention of John Lennon in 1973,” Steve says in a statement. “I felt that I was now playing guitar in the world’s best band, and everything was opening up for us.”

He adds that his sets also will feature “additional Genesis gems.”

Hackett will be joined by regular touring band members Roger King on keyboards, Jonas Reingold on bass, Rob Townsend on sax and flutes, and Nad Sylvan on lead vocals. Prog-rock drummer and percussionist Craig Blundell also will take part in the trek.

Released this past Friday, At the Edge of Light finds Hackett exploring a variety of genres with the help of a cast of international musicians. Steve says the album’s themes acknowledge the current upheaval in the world, while calling for a more harmonious planet.

At the Edge of Light is available on CD, and as a CD/DVD set, a CD/two-LP vinyl package and digitally. The DVD features a 5.1 surround-sound mix and a behind-the-scenes documentary.
