2017 Journey show featuring band performing "Escape," "Frontiers" albums to be released as CD/DVD set

Eagle Rock EntertainmentOn February 7, 2017, Journey played a special concert at Tokyo’s famed Budokan arena showcasing the band’s two most successful and beloved studio albums, 1981’s Escape and 1983’s Frontiers. Now, a video-and-audio collection capturing the full concert will be released March 29 as a DVD/two-CD set and Blu-ray/two-CD package.

Journey — Live in Japan 2017: Escape + Frontiers begins with a performance of Escape in its entirety, and also features the band playing every song from Frontiers except for “Troubled Child.” The concert ends with renditions of the Escape B-side “La Raza del Sol” and the group’s 1979 hit, “Lovin’, Touchin’, Squeezin’.”

Escape is the only Journey album to reach #1 on the Billboard 200 and is the band’s best-selling studio effort, having sold more than nine million copies in the U.S. Kicking off with the group’s enduring anthem “Don’t Stop Believin’,” Escape‘s track list also features the hits “Who’s Crying Now,” “Still They Ride” and “Open Arms,” and the classic rock radio staple “Stone In Love.”

Frontiers peaked at #2 on the Billboard 200 and has sold six million copies in the U.S. The album’s hit-packed track list features “Separate Ways (Worlds Apart),” “Faithfully,” “After the Fall” and “Send Her My Love.”

Journey’s Tokyo concert featured the band’s current lineup — guitarist Neal Schon, keyboardist Jonathan Cain, drummer Steve Smith, bassist Ross Valory and singer Arnel Pineda. Check out a video trailer for the release at Eagle Rock Entertainment’s official YouTube channel.
