A clip from one of the gigs, in Basingstoke, England, shows Plant and Saving Grace singer Suzi Dian duetting on a version the 1964 Everly Brothers tune “Gone, Gone, Gone.”  It’s a song Robert and country/bluegrass star Alison Krauss covered on their Grammy-winning 2007 collaborative album, Raising Sand.

Two other videos from the other show, in Bath, can also be viewed on YouTube.  They capture Saving Grace performing Mel Tillis‘ “Stick with My Baby” — another tune featured on Raising Sand — and the traditional spiritual song “And We Bid You Goodnight.”

The latter tune, which Saving Grace’s five members performed a cappella, was previously covered by The Grateful Dead and appeared on that band’s 1969 album Live/Dead.

Saving Grace has one more scheduled performance opening for Fairport Convention: this Friday, February 22, in St. Albans, U.K.

As previously reported, Saving Grace features Plant and Dian on vocals, Tony Kelsey and Matt Worley on multiple string instruments and Oli Jefferson on percussion. Judging by the YouTube performances, the group focuses on sparse, atmospheric acoustic sounds.

Meanwhile, Plant’s 2019 tour schedule includes an appearance at the star-studded, third annual Love Rocks NYC benefit concert on March 7 at the Beacon Theatre in New York City. He’ll also tour Scandinavia this June and July with his current primary backing band, The Sensational Space Shifters.
