Capitol Records/UMeLast year, the 50th anniversary of the Steve Miller Band‘s debut album, Children of the Future, was celebrated with the release of a box set featuring remastered, 180-gram-vinyl versions of the group’s first nine studio albums. Now, a follow-up collection boasting remastered, high-quality vinyl editions of nine more albums by Miller and company will hit stores on May 24.
Titled Complete Albums Volume 2 (1977-2011), the set spans from 1977’s multiplatinum Book of Dreams through the Miller Band’s latest studio effort, 2011’s Let Your Hair Down. All nine albums will be available individually as well.
Limited-edition colored-vinyl versions of the albums, with each disc boasting a different color or colors, will be sold individually and as a box set exclusively at uDiscoverMusic.com.
In addition, HD digital-audio versions of the nine albums are being released. One or two of the titles will be made available every Friday for five weeks, beginning this Friday, February 22, with Book of Dreams and 1981’s Circle of Love and winding down March 22 with Let Your Hair Down.
As previously reported, the Steve Miller Band will be touring the U.S. this spring and summer. They’ll start with a series of March headlining dates, and then hooking up with country veterans Marty Stuart and His Fabulous Superlatives for a joint trek running from June 13 through August 31.
“I know it is going to be one of the best musical pairings we’ve ever done and an amazing evening of great American music,” says Miller of the tour with Stuart.
