Frontiers Music SrlFounding Survivor and Ides of March member Jim Peterik will release a follow-up to his star-studded 2001 studio project World Stage on April 26.

Titled Winds of Change and credited to Jim Peterik & World Stage, the new album will feature contributions from ex-Styx singer Dennis DeYoung, REO Speedwagon‘s Kevin Cronin, Loverboy‘s Mike Reno, Night Ranger drummer/vocalist Kelly Keagy, and 38 Special‘s Don Barnes and Danny Chauncey.

The album also includes a track boasting archival vocals by late Survivor frontman Jimi Jamison, as well as songs featuring ex-Chicago singer/bassist Jason Scheff and the sibling duo of Gunnar and Matt Nelson.

Winds of Change features original tunes either penned by Peterik especially for his singers, or co-written by Jim and his various World Stage collaborators.

“Since the success of my first World Stage album back in 2001 and countless shows since, I have wanted to create a new musical legacy with this format,” says Peterik in a statement.

“I have always considered myself as much a fan of great bands and artists as I am an artist myself, so a project like World Stage is a dream come true since I get to pay homage to those whose music I love, by writing and performing with them.”

You can check out the track featuring Reno, “Without a Bullet Being Fired,” at the Frontiers Music label’s YouTube channel.

Meanwhile, Peterik says his collaboration with DeYoung, “Proof of Heaven,” is one of his “proudest moments.” He also reveals that he’s writing songs with Dennis for the founding Styx member’s upcoming solo album.

He added, “[F]or me the most touching moment of this record is reviving an amazing lost track by the late, great Jimi Jamison.”
