ABC/Randy HolmesExtremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile, the upcoming movie about infamous serial killer Ted Bundy that features Metallica frontman James Hetfield in his first dramatic film role, will premiere May 3 on Netflix.

In the movie, Hetfield portrays Officer Bob Hayward, the Utah highway patrolman who first arrested Bundy, played by Zac Efron, in 1975. You can get a brief glimpse of the musician in a new trailer for the film. 

Extremely Wicked, which also stars Lily Collins, Jim Parsons and John Malkovich, is directed by Joe Berlinger, who also co-directed the 2004 Metallica doc Some Kind of Monster.

When Extremely Wicked premieres, Hetfield will be touring Europe with Metallica. The metal legends will be back in the U.S. in September to play two special shows at San Francisco’s new Chase Center with the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their 1999 live album S&M.
