Dave J Hogan/Dave J Hogan/Getty ImagesMeat Loaf had a hellish experience this Saturday during an appearance at the 2019 Texas Frightmare Weekend convention in Dallas.

According to TMZ, the 71-year-old singer and actor fell onstage after apparently tripping on some wires and reportedly suffered a broken collarbone.

The incident occurred while Meat Loaf was taking part in a Q&A session. A video posted on TMZ shows Meat making his way across the back of the stage; he stumbles, tries to right himself, then falls sideways.

A post on the Texas Frightmare Weekend’s Facebook page on Saturday revealed that a local hospital was keeping the veteran entertainer overnight “for observation.”

The message explained that Meat Loaf wasn’t able to return to the convention Sunday, May 5 — the final day of the three-day gathering — but confirmed that he’ll be attending the 2020 edition of the event. The note also said that fans who purchased photo ops with Meat will receive refunds soon.

Meat Loaf has battled a variety of health issues in recent years, and has collapsed onstage during concerts in 2003, 2011 and 2016.
