RhinoThis past November, The Doobie Brothers took over New York City’s Beacon Theatre for two shows that featured full performances of their second and third albums, 1972’s Toulouse Street and 1973’s The Captain and Me. Now, a concert album and video documenting those shows will be released on June 28.

The Doobie Brothers: Live from the Beacon Theatre will be available as a two-CD set, a two-CD/DVD package, as a Blu-ray and digitally, and can be pre-ordered now. Special merchandise and bundles can be purchased at The Doobie Brothers’ online store. For a limited time, fans placing orders at Rhino.com will receive an exclusive metallic ink lithograph.

The special Beacon shows began with a set featuring Toulouse Street in its entirety, then an intermission, and then a full performance of The Captain and Me. The concerts’ encore included two later Doobie Brothers hits — the 1974 chart-topper “Black Water” and their cover of the Motown gem “Take Me in Your Arms (Rock Me)” — as well as a reprise of Toulouse Street‘s lead track, “Listen to the Music.”

Toulouse Street also includes the band’s cover of the 1966 gospel tune “Jesus Is Just Alright” and the classic-rock staple “Rockin’ Down the Highway.” Among the classic songs on The Captain and Me are “China Grove” and “Long Train Runnin’.”

As previously reported, The Doobie Brothers will be the opening act on the summer leg of Santana‘s 2019 Supernatural Now tour, which runs from an June 20 show in Irvine, California, through an August 24 concert in Wantagh, New York.
