Back in June, Brian Wilson postponed 12 concerts with his solo band that month, announcing that he was feeling “mentally insecure” and needed “to rest, recover and work with my doctors on this.” Now, the Beach Boys co-founder is set to resume touring tonight in Lewiston, New York.

A message on Wilson’s website reports that Brian has “been feeling 100% better,” and included a note from the legendary singer/songwriter that reads, “Thank you to everyone for your cards and best wishes. Your concern and love just blows me away. I’m feeling much better and I look forward to seeing you when we start up our tour.”

Wilson’s trek begins with a series of five headlining shows, two of which were rescheduled from June. Some of the concerts will feature a full performance of The Beach Boys’ classic 1966 album Pet Sounds, while others are billed as “Greatest Hits Live!” shows.

After those August dates, Brian will launch his previously announced joint trek with The Zombies, which kicks off August 31 in Las Vegas and runs through a September 28 performance in the Philadelphia suburb of Upper Darby, Pennsylvania.

The trek will feature Wilson and his solo band playing selections from The Beach Boys’ Friends and Surf’s Up albums, plus various hits by Brian’s old group. The Zombies, meanwhile, will feature their current lineup joined by original bassist Chris White and drummer Hugh Grundy, and will play their classic 1968 album Odessey and Oracle in its entirety.

Wilson also has a couple of additional headlining shows scheduled after the tour with The Zombies wraps up.

Brian and his band will be joined by Beach Boys alums Al Jardine and Blondie Chaplin at all of their 2019 concerts.
