BMGDesmond Child has co-written major hits for dozens of top artists during his long career, and now the Grammy-winning songwriter is putting out a live album featuring him performing his own versions of manyh of those songs.

Desmond Child Live, coming October 18, includes renditions of songs made famous by Bon Jovi, KISS, Aerosmith, Joan Jett, Cher, Ricky Martin and more.

The album was recorded in March 2018 at New York City’s Feinstein’s/54 Below.  It features performances of Bon Jovi’s “Livin’ on a Prayer” and “You Want to Make a Memory,” a medley of Bon Jovi’s “You Give Love a Bad Name” and Aerosmith’s “Dude (Looks Like a Lady),” and renditions of Aerosmith’s “Angel,” Jett’s “I Hate Myself for Loving You,” KISS’ “I Was Made for Lovin’ You” and Cher’s “We All Sleep Alone.”

The record also includes a medley of four Ricky Martin hits, including “Livin’ La Vida Loca,” plus a reunion of Child’s old group Desmond Child & Rouge performing “Love on a Rooftop,” a tune Cher recorded in 1989.

The album will be available on CD, digitally and via streaming services.

In other news, Child has an autobiography titled Livin’ on a Prayer: Big Songs & Big Life that will be published in 2020, and he’s collaborating with novelist Davitt Sigerson on a Broadway musical called Cuba Libre.
