ABKCO Records

ABKCO RecordsThis December marks the 50th anniversary of The Rolling Stones‘ classic album Let It Bleed, and in conjunction with the milestone, a limited-edition deluxe box set will be released on November 1.

The collection, which can be pre-ordered now, features two LPs and two Hybrid Super Audio CDs with remastered stereo and mono mixes of the album. There’s also an 80-page hardbound book containing unpublished photos; a poster; three lithographs and a seven-inch mono vinyl disc of the #1 single “Honky Tonk Women” and its B-side, “You Can’t Always Get What You Want.”

Let It Bleed was the final Stones studio album to feature founding guitarist Brian Jones, who was fired from the band during the recording sessions in June ’69 and died a month later. It’s also the first Stones album to feature guitarist Mick Taylor. Both Jones and Taylor appear on two tracks each; Keith Richards handled the bulk of the guitar duties.

The album peaked at #3 on the Billboard 200 and included classics like “Gimme Shelter,” the title track, “Midnight Rambler” and “You Can’t Always Get What You Want.” It’s sold more than two million copies in the U.S.

You can check out an unboxing video for the deluxe set and a newly created lyric video for the track “Monkey Man” on YouTube. The latter clip brings to life the Let It Bleed cover art, which features a surreal layer cake made of a tire, a pizza and birthday cake topped with figurines of the Stones members, all stacked on a turntable.

The Let It Bleed reissue also will be available as a standalone CD and LP, and digitally.

Here’s the LP’s track list:

Side 1
“Gimme Shelter”
“Love in Vain”
“Country Honk”
“Live with Me”
“Let It Bleed”

Side 2
“Midnight Rambler”
“You Got the Silver”
