Wicked Cool RecordsThis past September, The Empty Hearts, the supergroup that features founding members of Blondie, The Cars and The Romantics, released two brand-new songs — “Coat-Tailer” and “Run and Hide from You” — and now the band has debuted an official video for the latter tune.

The clip shows The Empty Hearts’ four members — Blondie drummer Clem Burke, Cars guitarist Elliot Easton and Romantics singer/guitarist Wally Palmar, as well as ex-Chesterfield Kings bassist Andy Babiuk — lip-synching to the song while hanging out at a cool-looking house.

In a couple of scenes, Burke is shown flipping through a couple of rock books — late Faces keyboardist Ian McLagan‘s memoir, All the Rage, and a biography about late Who drummer Keith Moon. The video also features veteran rock photographer Rob Shanahan snapping pics of the band members around the house, and footage of the guys playing their instruments by the pool.

“Run and Hide from You” showcases Easton’s jangly electric 12-string guitar and layered harmonies that clearly were inspired by The Byrds‘ early songs.

You can check out the video now at Wicked Cool Records’ official YouTube channel. “Run and Hide from You” and “Coat-Tailer” both will be featured on The Empty Hearts’ forthcoming sophomore album, which is due out sometime this year and — according to the YouTube page — will be titled Coat-Tailer.
