Speaking about Alice’s 2020 plans with reporters during the recent NAMM music-equipment trade show, lead guitarist/vocalist Jerry Cantrell said, “This year’s slated to be kind of an off year.”

But that doesn’t mean the grunge icons won’t be busy in 2020. For example, co-vocalist and guitarist William DuVall just released his debut solo album, One Alone, last October, and is currently touring the U.S. in support of the record.

Cantrell, meanwhile, is also looking to explore the solo route.

“I’ve, basically since I got off the road, been working on writing music and recording,” he said. “[I’m] thinking toward maybe doing something on my own this year.”

Cantrell’s last solo album is 2002’s Degradation Trip Volumes 1 & 2. He’s since released a couple of one-off singles, including the John Wick: Chapter 2 soundtrack song “A Job to Do.”
