A Cass County man has won $1 million in the Powerball game.

The Michigan Lottery says Tori Simpson of Marcellus matched five white balls in the March 16 drawing to win his big prize. He bought his winning ticket online.

Simpson says he logged into MichiganLottery.com before heading to work when he saw $1 million pending in his account. He didn’t end up going to work that day.

The 55-year-old Simpson visited the Michigan Lottery office in Lansing to claim his prize and says he plans to use the money to save for retirement. He says the million dollars will give him a good cushion to do so comfortably.
